No, sorry! We do not have a physical shop that you can visit. All items are made in a private home studio. However, there are several retail shops in Connecticut that you can visit which carry a selection of our products.

Our Products

Our products are not mass-produced! We make all of our baskets by hand, one at a time. We sew each basket on an industrial sewing machine by hand-coiling rope and shaping it into the desired form as we sew.

All of our baskets are made with untreated, natural-fiber rope -- primarily cotton. Because of this, the rope may occasionally have slight imperfections which are normal and add character to the final product.

Our baskets are frequently made-to-order. Therefore, the photo you see may not be the exact item you will receive. In addition, because each basket is made by hand, dimensions and details may vary slightly from item to item.

Yes! We are happy to make any of our baskets with a thread color of your choosing. Contact us to discuss our available colors.

Yes! We will be happy to work with you on a custom design. Please contact us to let us know what you have in mind. Please note that all custom orders must be paid in full prior to the start of work. We are sorry that we cannot accept returns of custom-made items.

Yes! We currently offer a selection of our best-selling items at wholesale pricing to our retail partners. If you think that Wild Carrot Cordage baskets would be a good fit in your brick + mortar shop, please fill out our wholesale inquiry form to receive more information. No online sales please.

Our baskets are made from natural-fiber rope. They should not be stored outdoors as natural fibers are prone to mildew if they are left in damp conditions. The best option for cleaning your basket is to hand-wash or spot-clean it with cool water and a clear liquid soap. Stubborn stains can be gently scrubbed with a soft toothbrush. After rinsing well, reshape the basket and leave it on a clean towel to dry completely. Our baskets will likely soften after cleaning or with heavy use.

Orders & Shipping

Orders are shipped Monday through Friday, with the exception of U.S. Postal holidays. Most items ship from our Connecticut studio in 2-4 business days. All orders are shipped First Class or Priority Mail via USPS. Most packages take 2-5 days in transit.

Please note: USPS has recently extended shipping times for some of its services. Expect possible delays in receiving your order. We recommend ordering early to ensure timely holiday delivery.

All orders shipped to Connecticut pay a 6.35% sales tax.

No, not at this time. 

Listed shipping prices are estimates based on weight. You will never pay more than this amount but if the actual shipping and handling costs are less than the amount paid (by $2.00 or more), you will receive a refund for the difference.

First, check the shipping address you provided in your order. This is where we have shipped your order. We are not responsible for orders shipped to an incorrect address that you provided.

USPS has recently extended its shipping times for many of its services. Please allow up to 7 days from the date it was mailed for your package to arrive.

If your package has been marked delivered but you have not received it, be sure to check all doors, porches, patios, and decks around your property. Your carrier may have tried to find a safer location to leave your package. In rare cases, the package may have marked 'delivered', but still take another 24 hours to arrive. After that time, please contact your local post office to inquire.

Occasionally, packages do get lost in the mail. If you have not received your order after 7 days from the date it was shipped, please contact us and we will see if we can help.

Possibly. If you would like to cancel an order, please contact us immediately. If your order has not yet shipped, we will likely be able to cancel it for you. However, in-stock items are often shipped same day or even within the hour. If that is the case, a cancellation will not be possible. If you have placed a custom order and want to cancel, please contact us immediately. You may cancel up to the time when we have started work on your item. Once we have started sewing your custom item, we will not be able to cancel the order.

If you live locally to our home studio in Colchester, CT you have the option to choose contact-free, porch pick-up. By entering LOCALPICKUP at checkout, you will not be charged for shipping and your order will not be shipped. After we receive your order, we will send you an email with details on when and how to pick up your order. 

Please note: This is not a 'free shipping' code. This code is only for local customers who want to pick up their order.

Returns & Exchanges

We hope you love your purchase, but if it’s not quite right for you, we'll gladly issue a refund for the purchase price, less shipping. The item must be returned in its original condition within 10 days of delivery to be eligible for a refund. Refunds are not guaranteed and are subject to our review of the returned product. Refunds will be issued within 48 hours of receiving the qualifying product.

Please contact us using this form or at hello@wildcarrotcordage.com to initiate an exchange or return. Custom orders cannot be returned or exchanged. Buyers are responsible for all return shipping costs. Please consider insuring your return for the price of the item -- we are not responsible for lost packages. 

Wild Carrot Cordage is committed to creating the highest quality products, so material and workmanship defects in an item you receive are rare. However, in the unlikely event of a product defect, we will happily replace the item or offer a refund. Since we only use natural-fiber rope in the construction of our products, the rope may occasionally have slight imperfections which are normal and add character to the final product. These imperfections are not considered defects. Staining that occurs with use is not considered a defect and will not be eligible for return. The placement and amount of colored thread on applicable items may vary. Your item may not match the photo exactly. This is the nature of handmade items and is not considered a defect.

Occasionally, and despite our best packaging efforts, orders may be damaged during shipping. While we are not responsible for damage which occurs during shipping, we will do our best to replace damaged products if at all possible. If your item arrives damaged, please let us know right away and provide photographs of the item so we can make it right as quickly as possible. 


All information gathered for your order is held confidentially. Your email may be added to our newsletter list if you opted in on our website or at one of our in-person events, but will never ever be sold to anyone.
